African Food you gotta love it!

Africa is one of the famous countries that offer food that are rich in fiber and are mostly organic. Due to the fact that Africa has tropical weather, all year round African communities grown foods like vegetables, fruits, cereals, tubers, nuts, and grains. All of these food are rich in fiber which stimulates body process, thus they are all good for health. Apart from growing plants, African communities also provide fish, milk, meat from poultry or cow, goat, lamb, or game (bush meat).

Breakfast Menu in West African includes:

  • Ogi or maize pap also known as akamu which commonly served with akara that is called as beans cake in Southern, Western and Eastern Nigeria.
  • Kunu or Millet porridge in Northern Nigeria
  • Plantain, Boiled Yam served with fresh fish pepper soup

Lunch Menu in Africa is often served from mid day to 4pm and it’s considered as the heaviest meal of the day.  Some of the foods include in African lunch are:

  • Jollo of rice with moimoi and fried plantain per serving.
  • Pounded yam or semolina or ground rice known as tuwo shinkafa or corn meal which called as tuwo masara or amala made from elubo served with any of the above soups or ewedu orabula or gbegiri soup in the south of Nigeria, or Miyan kuka or Miyan kabewa.
  • Cassava products like Gari akpu or starch (usin served with vegetable soup or banga soup or egusi soup or Ofe Onubu.
